Poinsettia

The poinsettia plant is iconic of the Christmas period and comes potted in a plant pot. Poinsettia has been associaterd with Santa's red coat and robins' breasts and is also know as the Christmas Eve Flower. The petals are not the bright red leaves but are infact the tiny buds at the center of the plant. There is also an offical Poinsettia Day on December 12th it was declared in honour of the death of Joel Roberts Poisett, whom the plant is named after.

If cared for, this plant can rebloom for years.  This is an indoor plant which should be kept in indirect sunlight, water if the soil is dry to touch and do not leave in either cold or warm drafts.
